Diwali

 Today is Diwali my friends . The festival of lights . But do you know why Diwali is celebrated ? Here is the story There was once a demon named Narakasura born to bhomi devi (mother earth) and  lord Varaha (An incarnation of Vishnu ) .  He is considered the ruler of bhauma dynasty . He defeated many kings and became a cruel demon and ruler . He worshipped Bramha dev  for years hoping to get a boon from him . Greatly pleased  Bramha appeared before him and  asked him to ask a boon of his choice . Narakasura replied " O great one bless me to be immortal " bramha replied " Thats impossible Narakasura . Anyone who is born have to die . please ask me for another boon" . Though not greatly pleased Narakasura  asked "bless me to be only killed by my mother". Bramha could not refuse and thus gave him what he wished for. Narakasura  knew that no mother would kill her  child. He thought himself to be immortal . Thinking thus Narakasura marched towards   Indraloka to battle Indra . But Indra who knew Naraka sura can not be defeat . So on seeing Narakasura attacking swargaloka (heaven ) Indra fleed away and decided to go to krishna for help . Narakasjra wseeing  Indra no where in the palace was pleased and finally defeated all the devas and stole the earrings of Aditi ( Indra 's mother) . Indra went to dwarka and requested krishna for help. Krishna agreed to help Indra and battle Narakasura . Satyabhama (krishna 's wife) requested him to accompany hi  to the battle field. Krishna agreed and took satyabhama to the battle field . During that time krishna killed a demon named Murasura with his sudarshan disc and finally killed his sons . He later moved to Narakasura where a huge battle broke krishna killed all his soldiers . Finally when  Krishna  and narakasura fought he realised that Narakasura can inly be killed by Satyabhama since she was a reincarnation of Naraka 's mother . He then had an idea . Krishna pretended as if to be wounded by Narakasura 's weapon  Angry Satyabhama mistook it to be true and thundered at Narakasura. She picked up a bow and arrow and shot  Narakasura which killed  him . At same time Krishna wakes up and releases his Sudarshan disc and  cuts him into halves  . Later Narakasura realised that Satyabhama was a reincarnation of his mother Bhumi devi . even satya bhama realises the very same thing . She wept  in sadness coming to know she had indirectly killed her own son . To pacify her Krishna tells her that "Satyabhama I officialy declare this  day to be Special and will be celebrated as Naraka chadurthasi and will be celebrated with lights all over " from that day on it was bhumi devi which killed her own son just to resore peace on earth . That is the reason crackers are bursted on account of Diwali.
